This workshop explores personal storytelling, teaching participants to translate transformative life moments into dramatic, high-stakes scenes for stage and screen. This workshop focuses on building internal tension and crafting compelling mysteries, rather than relying solely on external crises, to create impactful narratives. Writers participate in an interactive, collaborative session, sharing work for constructive feedback. The day concludes with a dedicated revision period, focusing on sharpening dialogue, pacing, and imagery, followed by a final celebratory showcase of the refined scripts. Judith Thompson is a playwright, screenwriter and novelist. In Crow's Field is her debut novel. Her plays, including The Crackwalker, Lion in the Streets, White Biting Dog, and Perfect Pie. have earned numerous awards. She is an Officer of the Order of Canada. Judith grew up in Kingston and teaches at the University of Guelph.
